Please take a moment and allow us to share our dreamy paradise with you. This 3,900 sqft home nestled in a secluded and private nature getaway has been our dream come true. We call it "Lily Ponds".
Our passion and love for nature, nurtured over a lifetime, led us to build out 22 lily ponds, several acres of gardens, and a bird watching tower. We often have shared the natural beauty of Lily Ponds with our friends and the world, but only on special occasions.
This is a farming community and although many would consider farming to be where the land value is we have personally appreciated the natural value as our private home in the country. We have immensely enjoyed the miles of canoing or kayaking and observing nature alive around us. For 10 years we had horses and enjoyed riding the property.
We are now for sale. Call Pat Brown (604-859-3141) or Martin Engh (604-832-2007) at HomeLife Glenayre Realty and they will arrange a viewing time with you as a qualified buyer.
Yes you are invited to share the DREAM of Lily Ponds.
Lily Pond Exotic Adventures:
Beyond the natural beauty of the gardens one of Lily Ponds' greatest attractions is the myriad of adventure that awaits us each day:
Sleeping in a Bird Watching tree house overnight: In the middle of a swamp we have a bird watching tower high in the air. An overnight sleep here will truly bring you close to the night life of active beaver ponds. An evening spent in the tower is one to remember for life.
Sleeping in the horse barn overnight: We have an opportunity to sleep in the barn's hay loft while sharing the barn with our two horses.
Sleeping on a raft overnight in a beaver pond: We have also tented overnight on a raft located in the beaver ponds. This is really close to the Beaver Lodge and at night you can experience amazing activity.
Beaver Pond night paddling trips; We have 7 kayaks to afford you the opportunity of a midnight paddle throughout the lily and beaver ponds. Ideally you begin your journey early in the evening when first darkness hits and the stars are twinkling. With a full moon rising towards midnight, you will experience the beaver ponds in their full glory.
Few Canadians experience even one of these adventures but here at Lily Ponds all of them can truly become precious moments and memories for you, your family and friends.
The Gardens: We have about 25 lily ponds that initially were planted with the largest collection of water lilies in Canada and featuring about 104 varieties. Furthermore we had one of the largest collections of Japanese water Irises. Today, after years of neglect, I must admit many of the species are gone; many lost to predators such as the muskrat or simply to over crowding. But still deep in the wilds of Lily Ponds you will see exotic lilies and Irises that still survive.
In fact with our busy life style Lily Ponds has had to adopt the "Modus Operandi" of if can survive on its own, with little to no care, then it can live. So today we have thousand and thousands of flowers that are now proven to be zero maintenance and extremely tough.

We also proudly kept one of the largest collections of Japanese water Irises. When blooming these irises resemble orchids.
Serenity: the sunrise over main pond.
Is this the swan that Santa rode in the the 1938 world fair in New York?
Well as the story goes Chunky Woodwards bought it for his Woodwards stores, probably in the 50's - 60's.
Then when Eatons took over Woodwards all the display props were sold to one person in Falkland.
I negotiated for a fair price on this for nearly 10 years. Then I finally broke down and purchased this most amazing swan.
Now she graces lily Ponds
On the final day of our departure from Lily ponds we fully expect the "Swan Song" from her.
This is when the mute Swan makes her one and only beautiful song as she gives up her life.
Well in this case she will stay on at Lily ponds and it is us that will be leaving to make way for the new owners.
A little fall colour on the top pond.
Fountain in action.
One of these parrots does a very big poop!
Yellow flag Irises and rhododendrons in bloom.
Lily Ponds is graced with 100's of flowering scrubs all with very low maintenance beds that require virtually no weeding year after year.
A DREAM comes true: catching a 13.75 lb rainbow trout on a very small fly with 3 lb test leader - in our own paradise!
Now that is fun!
